PROFESSIONAL TRAINING &
CERTIFICATION POLICY

MESS Ministries, Inc. / Crisis Support Solutions, LLC

Our trainings prepare individuals to support people in distress and high-stakes situations. Because this work impacts real lives and professional credibility, we maintain structured training standards aligned with best practices in adult education and competency-based certification. These policies protect participants, the individuals they serve, and the integrity of our mission.

1. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICY

1.1 Payment Requirement

Full payment is required to confirm registration unless otherwise stated in a written organizational contract.

Registration is not complete until payment has been received and confirmed.

1.2 Proof of Payment

Participants are responsible for retaining proof of payment.
If payment cannot be verified in company records, enrollment is not guaranteed.

1.3 Transfer Policy

Paid registrations are valid for 12 months from the original purchase date.

  • Transfers must be requested in writing prior to the scheduled training date.
  • One transfer is permitted within the 12‑month window.
  • Unused registrations expire after 12 months.

Expired registrations are not eligible for credit or attendance.

2. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

2.1 100% Attendance Required

Certification requires 100% attendance for all instructional hours.

Participants who arrive late, leave early, or miss any portion of the training are not eligible for certification.

Rare exceptions may be granted at instructor discretion for extraordinary circumstances. Approval must be requested in advance and may require completion of a make‑up assignment.

3. VIRTUAL TRAINING STANDARDS

For virtual trainings, participants must:

  • Attend from a stationary location (not driving or commuting)
  • Remain on camera unless prior accommodation is approved
  • Be in a distraction‑free environment
  • Actively participate in discussions, breakout rooms, and exercises

Driving, multitasking, or disengagement during training will result in ineligibility for certification.

4. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

This training prepares participants for real-world crisis and support situations. Professional conduct is required.

Participants must:

  • Remain attentive and engaged during instruction
  • Refrain from unrelated side conversations during instructional segments
  • Participate fully in designated partner exercises, breakout sessions, and skills labs
  • Respect instructional time and peer learning

Disruptive behavior may result in removal from training without refund and without certification.

Instructor authority regarding conduct, participation, and eligibility for certification is final.

5. CERTIFICATION POLICY

5.1 Certification Is Earned, Not Purchased

Payment grants access to training.
Certification is awarded based on successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated competency. Participation alone does not guarantee certification.

5.2 Certification Requirements

To receive a Certificate of Completion, participants must:

  • Attend 100% of training hours
  • Successfully demonstrate competency in core 6‑Part Protocol© skills through required exercises and skills practice
  • Participate in required exercises and skills practice
  • Meet professional conduct standards

Certification decisions are made by the instructor based on observed performance, participation in required exercises, and demonstration of core competencies.

5.3 Nature of Certification

Certification indicates that, at the time of training, the participant successfully completed the program and met established competency standards.

Certification:

  • Does not constitute licensure
  • Does not authorize practice beyond applicable laws
  • Does not guarantee employment
  • Does not imply ongoing supervision or endorsement

6. RECORD KEEPING

The organization maintains records of:

  • Attendance verification
  • Completion status
  • Date of certification

Certification reflects competency demonstrated at the time of instruction only. Records are maintained in accordance with internal documentation standards.

7. HOST ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBILITIES

(For Contracted, In Person Trainings)

Host organizations agree to:

  • Protect instructional start and end times
  • Provide a professional, distraction-free training environment
  • Support enforcement of attendance and conduct standards
  • Limit opening remarks or external presentations to pre‑approved timeframes.

Instructor authority over training delivery, timing, and participant eligibility for certification is final.

8. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • 30+ days prior to training: Full refund minus processing fee
  • 15–29 days: 50% refund
  • 0–14 days: No refund; transfer permitted within 12 months

No refunds will be issued for failure to meet certification requirements.
