Let's Make A MESS

Hurt Less. Heal Better.

When the call comes in, you want your help to be helpful.
That’s where we come in.

We equip clergy, lay leaders, responders, and volunteers with tools you can use to effectively care for those in need of mental, emotional, and spiritual support (MESS).

Here's How

Every MESS training is built on the 6-Part Protocol© — a step-by-step guide to help you move through any compassionate conversation.

Strengthen skills that help you:

    1. Show up with compassionate presence
    2. Lean in to explore for more
    3. Listen out for deeper concerns
    4. Provide care by compassionately challenging distortions
    5. Kindle hope by empowering progress through possibility
    6. Follow up and/or refer through continued connected care

One Protocol - Two Toolkits

One protocol, applied two ways—stabilize in moments of crisis and support through ongoing stress.

MES-Stabilization

Learn to provide a compassionate crisis stabilization just minutes, hours, and days following a tragic event.

The Stabilzation toolkit equips Helpers to meet immediate needs and critical concerns while providing mental, emotional, and spiritual stabilization.

MES-Support

Learn to turn quick conversations into moments of meaningful connection.

The Support toolkit equips Helpers to increase awareness, encourage acceptance, and empower heathy decision-making,,,
for them and you.

Those We Serve

We design trainings for those who want the skills to support others with clarity and confidence.

Professional Helpers

Clergy, counselors, social workers, chaplains, educators, healthcare workers, and others who regularly care for people through difficult moments.

Volunteer Helpers

Those like community partners, volunteers, neighbors, and everyday helpers who want to lean in when someone they care about is struggling.

Not Our First Rodeo

MESS didn’t start in a classroom — it started in the field.

Since 2011, through Crisis Support Solutions, our team has trained first responders, peer support teams, and high-stress professionals — equipping those called to show up in some of life’s hardest moments.

Today, that same 6-Part Protocol© equips clergy, lay leaders, and community volunteers to provide steady, effective care in moments of distress.

What People Are Saying

I have to say your class was great. I’ve been doing this for a long time but I learned so much and was even challenged to make changes in my old school approach.

I promise you, you will not get bored!  I learned so much – more than I thought I would in just two and a half days!  I feel better equipped now to support people going through it.  Thanks again!

Brilliant course. The skills are things we know but when shown how to effectively coordinate those skills, the outcome is more powerful.

This training was a great experience and really showed me how to listen and analyze what is going on when someone is going through an emotional stressful event.
